Our only relief comes with the afternoon thunderstorms we are getting occasionally. The afternoon rain showers have sort of matched my mood lately. I suppose everyone gets the blues sometimes.

I'm naturally an introvert personality. I hold a lot of worries in and dont talk about it, so all the little stresses and worries start to build up and get to me after a while. Oh well, this too shall pass.
I'm proud to mention that Adam's boat has been sent out into the Gulf to help with the oil spill clean up! I'm a little nervous about it because this is the first time he has ever navigated a vessel out into open sea. But he is super excited about it. He said he has been briefed on what to expect and he's confident that he can handle it. It's comforting to me that he's a very good pilot, so I am excited for him.

2010's hurricane season is also well under way. With the high temperatures lately that we don't usually see until August, so-called weather experts are predicting a very active season this year. It's said that the atmospheric conditions are very similar to 2005, when we had Katrina.
I'm not too worried though. I learned a lot through my experience with Katrina. I already have a checklist put away that I wrote out 3 years ago. It's time to dust it off, revise it, and make sure we have the supplies around here to weather any storm. I will post and share my preparations later.
UGH! It's time to cheer up and get back into summer mode. Midsummer will be here soon and I want to relax and enjoy it.

In geek thoughts lately, I am drooling for an iPad SO freaking bad! I don't want to pay what they cost, but dog-gone-it, I WANT one! I will be watching the prices fall between now and Christmas. *Wayne voice* It will be mine, oh yes, it will be mine....

Helping out with cleaning the oil spill is a very important job. He sounds very brave to be going out there. It will be a great accomplishment when he's done.
Yes it is. I am very proud of him :-)
