It's an early morning ritual at our house that the kids play Mario Bros on the Wii first thing in the morning. Adam & I don't argue with this as it gives us a chance to drink our coffee in peace (sometimes).
This morning while playing, Jacob asks Adreine a question.
Jacob: "Adreine, why does Mommy love Daddy?"
Adreine: "Duh! Because she HAS to!"

A little while later, I am in the kitchen cooking pancakes. Adam sneaks Jacob a tiny sip of coffee.
Adam: "Do you like that?"
Jacob smiles: "Mmm hmm!"
Adam winks: "When you're a little bit older, I might sneak you a sip of beer when Mama's not looking."
I call from the kitchen: "Jacob, tell Daddy what Mommy would say to that."
Jacob smiles at Adam: "Mommy says no!"
Adam winks jokingly again: "Well as long as you don't TELL Mama, then we're good!"
Adreine (who still had her head in the video game until now): "It's okay Mama, you don't have to worry about me drinking beer or coffee until I'm THIRTEEN!"
I sigh wearily: "What a relief! It's good to know I have such responsible children."
I throw a kitchen towel at Adam for laughing.

Loved that!
The kids both take after Hubby who is a big jokester. Sometimes when we all get to picking with one another, it turns into a big clown-fest.
