I can't help but wonder how I can help. But upon Google searching, the main statements I read being made say that this is all BP's fault, it's their problem, and the rest of us are just supposed to sit back and let BP handle it.
"People should not feel compelled to open their wallets to donate their hard earned money for something that is BP's responsibility." Read article
I don't know about any of you, but it doesn't look like it's being handled to me.
Instead of all the corporate finger-pointing and blaming, let's be constructive here. Okay, we know it's BP's fault. They know it's their fault. Whatever negligence was involved is in the past. Sh!t happens. Now, let's work together to deal with the problem.
We have one of the largest oil accidents in U.S. history going on. While stopping the leak is obviously gonna take awhile longer, meanwhile all the coastal critters are in danger. It made me remember that Dawn dish liquid commercial where they bathe the bird in Dawn and save its life. (I was in my hospital bed after giving birth to Adreine when I saw it. The hormones had me crying my eyes out over it....)

As it turns out, Proctor & Gamble is doing something to help right now. And you can help too. All you have to do is buy Dawn the next time you buy dish liquid. Then go HERE to activate P & G's donation to wildlife conservation efforts.
Want to do more? The Alabama Coastal Foundation is currently accepting volunteers and donations to assist in cleanup. So is the Wildlife Sanctuary of Florida.
Want to do even more? Pass this post along to your friends and family. If anyone knows of an organization or effort that can be added to this list, just contact me. I would be glad to add it here.
We can all send BP the bill for it later. For now, let's work on getting this mess cleaned up.
Adreine asked me to include these pictures of Gulf Coast Wildlife:
